The Department of Information Technology at International Burch University is proud to offer a master program that brings students to the forefront of the field. Master program is offered through two study tracks: Data Science Internet of Things (IoT) Both study tracks equip students with relevant knowledge and skills while balancing theoretical foundations with practical experience.
The curriculum is designed to provide a sound academic and practical knowledge of engineering systems and applications in the medical field. You will develop a deep understanding of the human physiology and the biological functions of the body. Specific emphasis is put on engineering knowledge and practical skills including: mathematics, electronics, software engineering, biomechanics, biomaterials, simulation and modelling of biological systems, clinical practice and research methodologies. You will experience hands on development of real-world devices from the very first year of the course to emphasise the “learning by doing” ethos we embrace. By the final year of the BEng course, you will be able to undertake significant independent work as evidenced by a large project. This will become a key part of a portfolio of projects that you will develop across the course as a whole, which will become a showcase for potential employers of your newly acquired skills as a biomedical engineer. The BEng and MEng courses are taught together for years one to three. You can opt to take the 4 year MEng course at any point during the course (subject to satisfactory performance). The fourth year will take a form of placement, different to most other courses as typically students undertake a placement between their second and third year and then return for an additional year to finish their studies. Students take final year MEng modules via online delivered learning. This allows you to take up employment at an earlier stage (or to undertake an internship) while gaining a master’s degree in 4 years.

The Curriculum of the program includes elective courses, which give an opportunity to students to improve their professional skills according to their interests. As Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at IBU offers two programs for graduate study leading to Master degree diploma including: Embedded Systems and Smart GRIDS in Electrical Distribution Systems, students on Bachelor of Science program are able to take elective courses in these fields.The requirements for a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering include the completion of minimum of 180 ECTS credits of formal course work and 30 days of approved practical training. A student then earns Diploma Degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The students who completed the bachelor’s degree level can continue to attend masters’ level on their demand and if they meet the minimum GPA of bachelor level conditions.

The 1-year Master program consists of 6 courses (36 ECTS), Seminar 1 (6 ECTS), and Master’s Thesis (18 ECTS) - Total 60 ECTS. This program is suitable for students with the first cycle (Bachelor) diploma (240 ECTS) in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (related fields) or IT.The 2-year Master program consists of 9 courses (54 ECTS), 2 Seminars (12 ECTS), 1 Internship (6 ECTS) and a Master thesis (48 credits) - Total 120 ECTS. This program is suitable for students with the first cycle (Bachelor) diploma (at least 180 ECTS) in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (related fields) or IT.The Embedded Systems programme is designed to provide students with the necessary education, theoretical and practical, to work at a professional level in industries involved in the embedded systems. The International Master’s Degree Programme in Biomedical Engineering (BME) is a two-year interdisciplinary program focusing on Biomechanics and Medical Imaging as well as Biomedical Signal and Image Processing.
