In date February 14th 2011, following a secret electoral round, the new EAMBES Council was formally elected by the duly authorized representatives of all member institutions in good standing.
13 candidatures were received during the call for nomination for the election of the EAMBES Council (a full list of the candidates can be found here).
According to the special procedure for 2011 elections approved during the last General Assembly (Brussels, May 15th 2010) this year only eight candidates were elected members of the Council, instead than 16 as it should normally be by statute.
The newly elected Council is composed by:
- the past President, Nicos Maglaveras, member of the Council ex officio
- four representatives of the Division of Academic Programmes or Institutions and Research Institutes:
Marco Viceconti - PRESIDENT
Keita Ito - TREASURER
Maria Siebes - COUNCILLOR for ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Patricia Lawford - COUNCILLOR for REGULATORY and INDUSTRIAL AFFAIRS
- four representatives of the Division of Society:
David Simpson - SECRETARY GENERAL
Christopher James - COUNCILLOR for EXTERNAL RELASHIONSHIPS
Karin Lohmann - COUNCILLOR for PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Dirk Grijpma - COUNCILLOR for PUBLICATIONS
